up to date (huge sigh of relief). Post #16 in 2 days!

August has been an interesting month. I finally got so tired of being stuck in the house because of the extreme summer heat and we are now involved in Gymboree a couple of times a week and have been enjoying the Austin Childrens Museum. I feel a lot less antsy now that we are finally getting out of the house some.

I have also been having fun shopping for cute Moo things. As it turns out I have a new accessory that I can shop for her. Are these not the cutest pink glasses you have ever seen?! Moo is farsighted, which means that generally speaking she can see most things at a distance fine, and likely things up close fine as well. The only problem is that her eyes are working so hard to focus on things up close that it causes some strain. She has been such a trooper about keeping them on, though. We really are lucky to have such a wonderfully good natured girl!

Shopping can really take a lot out of a girl. And a dad, too. Poor Gray had to carry her all over the Domain after she fell asleep in his arms. Did I mention record hot summer?!
Today was a great day for me. Other than the fact that I went to a Trinity alumni event where I had 3 beers and then had my baby alarm go off at 5.45 (lately she has been waking up at 7.15, so this was a very unpleasant surprise). Millie has been giving the BEST HUGS EVER lately. The kind that melts your heart and makes you not want for her to ever let go. While she hugs you she generally plays with the hair at the nape of your neck. Anyway, today I asked her for a kiss (for the first time) not expecting to get one. I got a big juicy on my cheek! Awesome!
Also, I asked her what sound the cow makes. I got a "MMMMMMMMMMMMMM" in reply. And, in case you don't know, a dog "dogda" goes "aw aw aw". Still working on that one :)
Today I really realized how lucky we are to have such a great little family. :) Who woulda thunk just a couple short years ago.....
Sorry about the late blog entries. I hope everyone didn't give up on me and I will try to keep more up to date in the future. I now know how hard it is to catch up!
